First Image Of Chris Hemsworth As Thor

I know Hellhammer will be excited. He is such a Thor fan.


Lifting the veil for the first time on director Kenneth Branagh's mysterious project, Marvel has today released the first image of Chris Hemsworth in full outfit as the mighty Thor!

What we see, is a fairly conventional representation of the modern comic version of Thor with covered arms, darker top, etc. However, he's hardly the over-sized muscle-bound, flowing blonde-haired character that looks like he walked off the cover a 70's era rock album. He's clearly an average-sized, rather normal-looking person. It's overall, a solid-looking character, but I'm not sure there's enough here to make an objective judgment on how it will work in the film.

With the rather normal image of the Thor form considered, it does leave you to wonder how the film will handle the whole aspect of the Asgardian Thunder God's essence being trapped inside his Earth alter-ego, Donald Blake. It has been confirmed for a while that the film is loaded with stars such as Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, and Tom Hiddleston. Yet, still no one announced for the crucial role of Blake. While it has been strongly asserted last year that this aspect would not be featured in the film, it still seems possible that, given Thor's unassuming, "normal" appearance, that he could adopt some sort of "secret identity" scam once on Earth, possibly with the name Donald Blake as a comic tribute.

I think they portray the modern Thor pretty good with it. I didn't think he could handle the look of the role but he manages to. Hopefully the movie will be good.

Well At least they didn't overdue it IMO. It's looking like it will turn out good.
