Upgrade to Residence Hall Internet access to be completed next week
The anticipated growth of Internet use resulted in an upgrade to the campus academic network (serving classroom buildings and the Library) over the summer. This upgrade has provided stability to that network, now showing traffic that has doubled from last year.
Over the past 3 weeks we have noticed that the connection to the Internet for the network serving the Residence Halls has reached a saturation point. Additional equipment has been ordered to upgrade the Residence Hall network to triple its current capacity. This upgrade should be completed next week.
Until the upgrade is completed, downloading on the Residence Hall network will continue to be slow. If you need to download files we recommend that you used a wired connection on the academic network in areas such as Kryzsko and the Library or any classroom building.
