Earlier today, we posted an article lambasting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for its seemingly ineffectual treatment of cheaters, who remain a rampant problem for the game's online service.

Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling, better known as @fourzerotwo, posted a rebuttal to the allegations in Gameranx's comments below the article:

The statement, "Cheating goes unchecked online", is completely false. We actually perform daily sweeps of leaderboards and player stats and take action on any account that is caught boosting or exploiting any glitch. This has been widely publicized and we're open about bans and actions taken against cheaters via @fourzerotwo on Twitter. Any glitch or exploit that is discovered is then quickly updated and removed from the game. You can check all updates past and current at http://fzt.me/mw3updates
