Scab refs....

When I heard the scab refs were going to start the season I downgraded how I thought the Ravens would do, I originally had them at 12-4, but scab refs made me lower it to 10-6. The refs in the Eagles v Ravens game were SO inconsistent to say the least. They call offensive pass interference on Ravens WR Jacoby Jones on a TD that would have put the Ravens up by 10 with 4 + minutes left. They didn't even throw a flag, but a beanie instead? It clearly wasn't OPI.

They flagged the Eagles defenders 4 times for illegal contact, but at least 3 of those were clear defensive pass interference. Now if you look into the refs they are using now, they got them from high school football games and things like that, they don't even know the rules. The Ravens game wasn't even the worst one, last week the Packers got a TD on a punt return with a clear block in the back, today's Rams v Skins game had so many missed and bad calls I turned it off.

I never thought I'd want the old refs back, but goddamn, I hope the NFL sees that scab refs are ruining the integrity of the game, its all anyone is talking about.

You'd figure the NFL, which makes BILLIONS every year, would want to pay the refs like they deserve. Turns out refs are only "part time" employees and would actually be better at their jobs if they went full time. Its not just my team I'm complaining about, you cannot win them all. I actually turned off football because the calls were so bad, and this was games that I had no real stake in.

The calls are just getting worse, and its the game I love. Its very upsetting to say the least.

Its sad how far things have fallen, its like the NFL just rounded up a bunch of hillbilly's and tossed the rule book at them and said they are now NFL refs. They need to just pay the damn regular refs and quit being so stingy about it. NFL is the sport in America people really look forward to, its quality and entertaining, I mean any team , any year can contend, but the players need to be the ones that decide the games.

I feel bad for hockey actually, they don't have the fan base to survive another lock out, that almost killed baseball back in 1994, these corporations make so much money, they all have sponsors and games and yet they penny pinch like no other. I expect a certain level professionalism with PRO sports. It isn't bush league man...

As a guy who knows how shitty high school and college refs can be. The replacement refs are StUfF. Think back to week 1 of the preseason when the Bills player downed the punt at the 4 and they called it a touchback. That's 12 feet of error. Last week, they gave the Seahawks 4 time outs in the 2nd half. Not to mention this week's StUfF in Baltimore.

I heard the refs only got paid like 20k a year, which is explained by the part time thing I guess. They deserve a lot, and the fidgeting NFL has money to spare. MLB umps get paid between 60k and 150k a year. That's crazy.

You heard wrong. They lost by 1 point, they were up 3 and Flacco threw a TD to Jones, but the ref called it offensive pass interference. Ravens kicked a field goal to go up 6. Ended up with a chance to win it at the end despite it all, but couldn't pull it out.

Seriously though, I love my teams no matter what, they could not win a single game and I'd still be all in.

I said the Cardinals were gonna suck dick this year when Skelton was the starter. They aren't as good as they seem, the Patriots failed to execute time and time again, but their defense can lead them to a winning record if Kolb doesn't make mistakes.

Ya, I heard about the Fantasy Football deal with the refs for the Balt/Phil game, one ref got kicked off the Saints crew when he was found to be a big saints fans. Hope they get the real refs back soon...even though I thought I'd ever say that...lol
