 Question for kids who work out.

PostSubject: Question for kids who work out.   Sun Apr 19, 2009 2:21 am

So over the winter, i put my weight back on.
It was pretty much expected, i do every winter.
But now that it's warmer out, it's time for me to excercise.

now i USE to go jogging every morning when i wake up, and do about 30 push ups and 100 crunches a day.
This was all done when i woke up, because when i was in elementary school, it was pounded in my skull that
"if you excercise at night, it's pointless"

i work every morning.
waking up an hour early is not an option.

will i still loose weight from what i use to do later in the day before i fall asleep?

well, look at the physiology of the body. why do you not work out at night? because you have major insomnia. other than that insomnia, you also get very hungry (i know from experience to, cuz i have swim team practice from 8-10 during the winter), and regardless, when you eat 2-3 hours before you go to sleep, all that crap doesnt get burned off, and turns into the ugly shit on your body. now the pros of working out in the morning is that you wake up, and you get going, and you can eat all you want. i cant see any problems with working out during the day, except that its going to be fucking hot out

Deffiently work out before bed.
I did 100 crunches before bed for about a month
And i am not eating as much junk food
I lost 5 pounds
and my 6 pack is coming in.

try to do something in the day noonish then do it later around b4 it gets dark
it'll help
especially running like do a couple laps or grab a bike
it helps cuz when i did this for conditioning i went from 185 to 165 in like a week

theres already alot of misinformation here. It doesn't matter when you work out. Burning calories is burning calories. Some people will tell you that cardio in the morning on an empty stomach will burn more fat but theres no real evidence to support that.

If you want to burn fat, clean up your diet. Lower carb intake, up protein intake, keep fat intake moderate with the majority coming from healthty fats from fish, eggs, and lean meats.

Find out what your BMR is and start to subtract calories from that number. Dont cut calories drastically or your body will turn to muscle stores to compensate. Getting a nice body takes time and alot of effort.

Oh btw, eatting before bed doesn't mean your body is going to store everything as fat. Its not like your metabolism shuts down when you sleep. Now, if you eat a whole bag of cheetohs while falling asleep watching tv, thats a different story. Alot of people who are trying to gain muscle will set their alarm in the middle of the night to wake up and eat another meal.

well, it doesnt shut down, i didnt say that, but what it does do is that it slows down majorly, just like almost every other bodily function when you sleep

I use the heavy bag every night, usually around 11:30 p.m.
The old myth about "Don't eat anything past 7 p.m." is also BS.

Yeah a Big Bag/Heavy bag 80 pounder used by boxers.
Been using one for year's and year's. Great way to release stress and get a solid workout.

there are 2 reasons why working out at night doesn't help. working our in the morning helps get your metabolism workinging faster for the rest of the day. at bight for getting it worked out for....sleep... not helping you at all

also at night when your sleeping your metabolism is at its slowest....which is largely the reason we Americans are obese(more so now i mean). we eat a lot at night and then go to sleep where it just sits......
