I know he passes as Moderately skilled, however being a guitarist since I was 14 his style and what he can do boarders on amature.

nah, you want good you have to look to Clapton, Richards, Hendrix, Walsh, Hammet etc...

look the the protest the hero guitarists i posted.... amazing. the thing is a lot of the newer more difficult techniques were never used in their music and now are like childs play for guitarists now. like sweeping. i don't think i've heard a sing song by anyone you posted with sweeping. which is very difficult

I think Most new music is talent less and that's why it tends not to last very long. You'd be hard pressed to find people who wouldn't think Clapton is just THE guitar God.
