Halo Wars Review

I just tried the halo wars demo.
beeeeeeeeeeh as far as console RTS's go, it's pretty good.

Things you can do/have:
1.Create a base. unfortunatly it only gives you so many places to do so, it's not like you can freely put them whereever you so please.
2.Upgrades. You can upgrade your units, make them stronger, enhance base defense.
3.Special Attacks. Each unit gets a special attack. Now it may seem like "oh shit, thats cheap as balls" But no, everything has it's strengths and weaknesses, plus there is a cooldown time to use your special again.
4.Heros. Woopdy doo, nothing special here really, just a character with a different special attack and better stats. pointless really?

Sadly, the game was kind of lacking.
It didnt incorporate EndWars voice commands, which honestly would have made this game 10x better and i'd say play this game over endwar easily.
camera view is garbage, and it moves slow as hell.
the fighting was pretty fast paced. i dunno about my opinion on that. battles seemed to last about as long as they should have.
It was simple to choose units to spawn in, basicly you click the building, then move the analog in the direction of what action you want.
It was a pain to cycle through units, but then again, without voice commands, it always will be.

I would say get endwar over this but, end war has it's lackings too.

this game is alright.
halo should stick to shooters though.

and without any "hype" build up i vote 3 out of 5 stars.

honestly though if there were other RTS's on consoles out there, i'd say this game was garbage.

I agree with 3/5. The graphics of the game itself were meh, but the cutscenes were stunning.

Umm is there online play with the demo

or just single player

it's just single player.
they give you 2 campaign missions,
and 1 skirmish map.

One thing I also noticed. The skirmish map is REALLY small. Like it would take literally 10 seconds to rush from your base to the enemies. And no obstacles.

But thats just one map.

that was one of the small maps some rts's have.

if you took notice it only supported 1v1 if you look at the maps to choose from.

thats how warcraft 3 was.

i knew this game was gonna suck

The other halo is halo 3 but improved...halo 3 is already better than games like littlebigplanet.

please, dont start the counsel wars!! but he is right, you cant compare 2 totally different games. its a FPS vs ..... well idk what lpb is, but im 99.999999% sure its not an FPS or TPS

why do you keep calling it counsel wars....And you just said you cant compare them, then you say LBP is better?

halo 3 is old and over rated lbp is new better and way more creative than h3 thats how its better

If you had actually played Halo and got a decent rank you wouldn't be saying that.
LBP is GAY there is nothing you can say that proves otherwise.

But you're wrong fusion. I played LBP in ebgames.

is it better then endwar. cuz i actually like endwar altho i wish there were more opions for units. i'm so used to AOE/AOM where you get so many.

You played a demo then wolf, not the actual full game with friends and online user created content.
LBP beats halo 3 on fun levels any day.
Like said though you can't compare the two, they are COMPLETELY different types of games.
That's like me saying COD4 is waaaaaaaaaay better than Super Mario.
Besides that statement being ludicrous, you can't compare it.

Maybe theres a 5 minute limit in your ebgames, its 45 minutes in ours.

i agree ICM. its really hard to compare across genre. you can generalize and say on a whole a game is better but thats usually hard to say. each genre bring a different thing to the table. LBP brings out creativity and promotes a fun easy to use community with fun playful graphics and endless gameplay. halo brings shooting, online competition, more realistic graphics( for aliens lol) a deeper story and other things. see... 2 different things. but both games are good for their genre so yeah hard to compare lol.

i personally think LBP is underrated by 360 fans thinking its a kids game when really its not. the create a level is so good i mean some levels i've seen i think developers would have made. it takes a talented and creative mind to make them, also the smarts to know how to use each tool correctly. to do multiple tasks.

back to the main topic. Halo W is only a demo. i mean same with Killzone 2. you can't fully rate a game without playing every aspect of that game. CG didn't like the demo but yet the full game got maybe 1 official rating below a 8 and there were few 8's. you may not like the demo as much but the final product may actually be good. i mean if your unsure about a game, rent it. try it out and see if you like the full thing.

im seriously getting tired of hearing about LBP i will rent it but also im guessing halo wars would be like warcraft and strategic games
