NINTENDO CONFIRM NEW CONSOLE TO BE UNVEILED AT E3 2011, “PLAYABLE MODEL” TO BE AVAILABLE

Nintendo of Japan have confirmed that the company is to release a successor to their hugely popular Wii system next calendar year, and, more importantly, is due to be unveiled at E3 2011 with a “playable model” to be available to attendees.

Such news comes after a speculative number of weeks in which multiple sources began to discuss Project Café, Nintendo’s rumoured codename for its upcoming console. However, unlike the announcement made prior to the Nintendo 3DS’ reveal at E3 2010, Nintendo haven’t provided any hints as to what their next home console will entail, merely describing it as being the “Wii successor system.”

Nintendo’s full message is as follows



Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch next year a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.

We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.

Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term.

Well for me personally it depends on how much it costs and what type of online it has, but even then I doubt it is much of a clan based thing for me or this clan.

I'd be up for seeing what it has to offer, but I will stick with my 360s for the foreseeable future.
