With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release looming many of us are probably getting a little bored of Black Ops, however we just thought we would remind you that Treyarch has planned a double XP weekend starting from today – in fact a recent tweet has confirmed that the both PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers can rake in double xp already!
A tweet posted by the official Treyarch Twitter account less than 5 minutes ago reads: “You heard the man. Double XP is now live for 360 and PS3. Nuketown 24/7 returns. Enjoy the weekend”, we knew that it was gonna be double xp, but we wasn’t aware that 24/7 Nuketown had retuned – now you have no reason not to reach 15th Prestige.
We first confirmed that this double xp weekend would be going ahead this weekend when the date was set for the Black Ops Rezurrection DLC release for PS3, we just wondered whether PS3 gamers will be making the most of the new zombie maps, or would play standard multiplayer to rank up before the promotion ends on September 25th.
This could potentially be the last-ever Black Ops double xp weekend we ever see, we previously heard that Rezurrection was the game’s last DLC release and usually double XP weekends usually follow DLC releases to promote them – now Black Ops gamers have nothing new to and the game will see the same fate which Modern Warfare, World at War and Modern Warfare 2 have seen.
Will you be making the most of this double xp weekend? We doubt there will ever be another one for this game.
