If you’re looking for a reason to jump into the awesome curb-stomping multiplayer in Epic’s third person shooter, the upcoming ‘Forces of Nature’ map pack should be more than enough to get you back into the online war. The map pack is set to release later this month.
Featuring five maps and a number of new weapons & skins, players will battle on the streets of 'Aftermath', run through the military bases found on the map ‘Artillery’ , or take cover on the Cove; which happens to be a pier of old industry buildings. Also coming in the map pack are HD-revitalized versions of the two previous Gears of War maps, 'Jacinto' & 'Raven Down'.
One of the coolest features coming to the maps are the environment triggers, which effect how what happens on the battlefield. The events take places halfway through the battle and are designed to force players to make adjustments to compensate. Whether is the rain that graces ‘Jacintos’ new design, or the snow in 'Raven Down', most should find it cool to re-experience the old maps with the small changes made to them. What you might find most pleasing are the catastrophes taking place in the new maps.
In ‘Aftermath’ an earthquake will waylay the land half way through the battle, while, in ‘Artillery’ a tornado changes your plans and in the new map ‘Cove’ the terrain gets covered by a thick fog. The Forces of Nature map pack has both the old and new maps looking awesome. The pack hits Xbox live Market Place on March 27th, you can check out the gameplay walkthrough above, or view the screens-shots of the maps right here.
