'Halo 4' title update planned for February, Specializations unlocks coming soon

343 Industries has been on vacation with the holidays but they returned Wednesday with news on what's coming up for "Halo 4" in the next couple of months. This includes weekly Spartan Ops and multiplayer playlists updates plus the long awaited Specialization unlocks. There's also a title update planned to come along with the Majestic map pack.

The "Halo 4 Infinity Challenge" still has a couple of weeks to run but season one of Spartan Ops and the multiplayer playlist updates will return to their regularly scheduled Monday updates starting on Jan. 21. This will also be the first week that Specialization will start unlocking for everyone with the Pioneer and the Pathfinder Specializations on the docket first. Grifball will finally be making an appearance in the playlist rotation as well.

The Majestic map pack is coming in February for "Halo 4" with two small maps and one medium-sized map. A leak previously dated the DLC for a Feb. 25 release and that's when we expect the new Title Update mentioned by 343 Industries will come as well. Details of what's being fixed, added or changed have not been revealed.

Week of 1/21
Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
"Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking!
Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 1/28
Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease!
Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players.

Week of 2/4
Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety.
Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players.

when do they release more maps? thats really the only thing that i care about.

Well they released the Crimson Map Pack last year, and there is supposed to be 2 more map packs released early this year.

but are those maps better than the StUfF maps in the game right now? thats the only thing stopping this from being an amazing game is that theres a big fat zeeeero good maps.

Halo 4's online is SOOOOOO much better than COD BO2. For one thing it doesn't lag all over the place, and it's actually fun. Imagine that, an online game that is fun.

The last online game I had fun on was Tetris Battle, that StUfF is competitive.

Last game i had fun on was mgs pw, i actually played bo2 last night and it was to bad be and this randy StUfF on a clan. I also had some sniping fun.

Halo 4 is fun, I probably wont play much BO2 unless there are some people on. Gonna pre-order Gears Judgement next week to unlock weapon skins and young Marcus.
