When Halo 3 was the free game Grave and I were playing it and talking about how cool it'd be if they released Gears 1 for free so the community would come back and we'd get the chance to play it online. That night I messaged Microsoft head of games studio Phil Spencer on Twitter and we talked about seeing Gears come back the way Halo 3 did. Now it's happened and I'm actually excited to go and try it with actual people on the game!
