well RROD has a better ring to it then yellow screen or whatever, I admit Microsoft jumped the gun, but wanted a good foothold on the hardcore gaming market. They at least offer 3 year warranties on EVERY 360, but whenever I hear of PS3 issues I heard the people have to pay out of their own pocket for it?
I know I know at least 6 PS3 people who had that issue, including SOR Destroyer twivce, Redhatcc, Semperfi, Scratch, iceman twice etc....

I got RROD but I still prefer 360, in the 8 days it took them to send me back my 360 I got free 3 month XBL card, Free Microsoft points and a upgraded 360 with HDMI ports.

To each their own, but 3rd place is 3rd place...

its sad that they need a 3 year warranty. i've had one friend have a problem with his and he sent it in for free i believe. disk reader problem. i just find it funny that microsoft keeps saying they fixed the problem with the falcon chip and the new heatsink but low and behold that ring keeps popping up. i'm glad you got a new one good for you. but in replacing consoles i'm sure Microsoft lost more money then sony. heck i wouldn't be suprised if the 360 started in the red due to the RROD

I've had my xbox for over a year and I've only ever had one error and that was for opening and closing the disk tray to fast lol. and its not permanent?

i'm 360 had about a 50 % chance of having RROD or not even starting when first released. i know at least 10 people in my school that got their consoles and they didn't turn on....... which is why i said i wouldn't be surprised if they started off negative after having to replace all of the consoles

not saying every one gets RROD but a large number have. as i've said some people have had it 6 times. i know there is 1 and 2 quarters which aren't permanent. 3 is the bad one. i know this cuz i know many of people that have gotten it....

There are different 3 light warnings.
If the cables aren't connected in tight, you get get a set of 3 red lights, same for power cord, over heating etc..
The hardware failure one is distinct.
