IGN's Gran Turismo 5 Review 8.5

Figured I'd post this for those interested.

thats a pretty shitty rating considering how long it took to make.

Well consider Forza 3 got 9.4 from the same place, that might tell you something. I think too much hype went into GT5 and too many postponements. GT was always a fair racing sim, but I think with GT5 they pulled a ELT Destroyer...tried too hard...lol

I'll likely be buying the game regardless of the "poor" 8.5 rating. I am admittedly disappointed with the lack of damage and still stupid AI. However, I love the racing sim, and GT is always the best at it. Forza is not GT5, its for people who want to race right away with super cars.

Well I've only played one Forza, but you build up your own cars in it and customize them pretty much from the ground up. I like the damage effects in that game. I'm not saying GT5 is poor, I mean 8.5 is a solid score, just I'm sure a lot of people were expecting better? I don't personally think there is a such thing as a "Perfect" game. I mean every game I've ever played had flaws.
