Sega’s Alan Pritchard told Game Informer that the Dreamcast collection is on its way for Xbox 360 and PS3. Back in November, GameStop listed and then unlisted the compilation for Xbox 360 (see the screenshot), and until now we haven’t heard a word about it. But Space Channel 5 fans can (potentially) rejoice, as it’s officially in the works.
While titles and a date have yet to be released, the price is listed as $29.99. But along with the good news, there was one thing that may discourage Sega devotees: Pritchard revealed there are no plans to create a new console. “Unless there’s something I don’t know – no one has told me about getting back into the console business,” he says.
Earlier this year, the company re-released HD-improved versions of Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi for Xbox 360 and PS3. And while Sega revived these two popular games for console systems, it’s been strictly sticking to the computer game market since 1999. Its last console, the Dreamcast, went up against the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube and sold only 10.6 million units.
