Deathstreaks are a hot topic among Modern Warfare 3 fans, especially experienced players. Many were hoping that this new feature, introduced back in Modern Warfare 2, would be scrapped in the next instalment. Many of these fans have also been quite vocal about their feelings on the subject. They are making sure that they are heard among the developers at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.

When asked about the type of thinking that went behind the inclusion of deathstreaks, Glen Schofield, VP and Co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, answered, “So [gamers] have a chance of becoming better players. [Veteran players] have years of experience playing. New players need help.”

One fan suggested that once a player reaches the highest rank in his first prestige, deathstreaks should no longer be available to him, since he should now be considered “experienced.” Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Infinity Ward, countered by saying, “Removing a feature from the game for more experienced players isn’t the answer. How about a Deathstreak-less playlist?”

Hmm. Now there’s an idea!

Do you think this is fair? Should players have the option to choose a deathstreak-less playlist in Modern Warfare 3?

I actually find that to be a great idea but the deathstreaks in this one are not game changing like painkiller where it took 3 sniper shots to kill the person most of these deathstreaks are more for getting out of spawn traps and things like that either way doesnt matter to me where this one goes.

Agreed, in MW2 they were OP, but in MW3 it seems they've been changed to only be good in certain situations

(unlike Final Stand in MW2 where you could go down with your overpowered SMG and come back to life after basically dropshotting the guy who should have gotten a kill.)

Plus it seems to take a few more deaths to get, but I think they should add one for a 10 death streak blocking you from multiplayer for a day...

It's much more balanced now. Plus you don't have to deal with Painkiller, which was the worst idea ever.

my only issue is what the Crud is robert bowlings problem with the idea of having deathsreaks removed at a certain level. its a way better idea than a deathstreak less playlist. nobody play bullshit playlists like that and itll be missing something that ruins it. like itll be deathstreak less tdm and nothing else-.-
