Several sites have reported on this rumor, including Insideris and Teknylate. As of writing Microsoft have yet to make an official statement, but apparently you’ll be able to play Xbox 360 games straight from the disk on Windows 8. That is if your PC has the power to run them, of course.
You’ll also be able to access the Xbox live marketplace through your PC, and this obviously means gamertags will be supported as well. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, there are also rumors of Microsoft charging a fee to use this service. I don’t know about you, but paying to play games you already own just doesn’t sit right with me.
That’s about all we have to report on the rumor right now, but we’ll update you as soon as we get more information. Would this be a feature you’d be interested in using? Feel free to share your opinions with us in the comments.
