Black Ops 2 Zombie Mode Gets Competitive

Speaking in an interview BebopVox at E3, Treyarch's Daniel Suarez talked at length about the company's upcoming shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

While Suarez answered numerous questions about the game's singleplayer campaign and multiplayer modes, one of the things that stood out to me in the interview were his answers about zombies in Black Ops 2.

In the first Black Ops, Zombie Mode was designed as a part of the single player experience. You could play it alone or team up with three friends for four player co-op, and there were no competitive elements.

Black Ops 2 will see a return of Zombie Mode in its classic form, but unlike the first game, it's being built from the ground up as an addition to multiplayer and will even come with a few competitive modes.

One of the examples Suarez provided was a competitive zombie survival mode, in which two teams of four players play in a regular match and see who can survive the longest. The addition of such modes would open up a lot of room for the competitive community in Black Ops 2, well beyond that of its predecessors.

Zombie Wager matches were also mentioned as a possibility, with teams tasked to perform various objectives during zombie mode. Players could be tasked with killing the most zombies in the shortest amount of time, or surviving a non-stop horde the longest.

We'll find out more about the new Zombie Mode in the months to come

actually as long as me hate and asap are playing since hate is not a finklestein we are golden, we may be tight on money but we are the best at surviing when it comes down to being solo and clutching for the team in the higher rounds

Dude, I saved our asses so many times, we wouldn't even have the high score that we do if it weren't for me surviving pretty early on when a bunch of you died.

Well seeing as how I remember the time we made it to level 23, I'll explain what I'm talking about. Asap and Grave both got slapped and I jumped off the ice ledge and survived, this was around round 12, Hellhammer was AFK. I managed to make it around and pick up HH or Grave, cant remember which one it was. Anyway, that started our comeback and enabled Grave to rally us later on around round 18/19.

So, again I state that we wouldn't even have made it that far if it wasn't for me. I'd also like to point out that I've made it to level 18 without Grave or Asap.

23??? You guys suck, slap! I've gotten to 32 with 4 players, and 40 by myself.

It was Call Of The Dead, and that is the highest on my friends list.

I did mine offline = doesnt show up on leaderboards. I also did mine on Kino. I do admit call of the dead is harder, ill give ya that.

Well he says he wasn't talking about Call Of The Dead, which is probably the best and hardest Zombie mode. I think its definitely the best, we had some epic good times on that one.
