PSN is back online after 25 long days. PSN started coming back online State-by-state early last night.
In order to access PSN, console owners must download the latest system software update v3.61. After doing so, users will be prompted to change their password. This can either be done by changing it directly on the PS3 or a text-message will pop-up telling the user that an email to change the password will be sent to email address under the users account. If the user is not prompted to change their password it means that the network is still not live in your state or region.
As expected, the PlayStation store is still undergoing maintenance. Sony has stated previously that all services should be running again by May, 31st. The situation is fluid, but it's worth mentioning that Sony has yet to issue any statements as to the status of the 'Welcome Back' program as of the writing of this article.
For those of you that are SOE fans, you should be happy to know that your services are being restored as well.
